Legislature Considers Anti-Smoking Bills

Another smoking-related measure (SB389) would prohibit smoking on the premises of any correctional facility or public school campus in the state. It has been approved by one committee so far.
Sen. Joe Carraro, R-Albuquerque, is sponsoring the measure.
"I believe that non-smokers should not be subjected to secondhand smoke exposure and certainly our children in our public schools need to be protected," he said.
